Is there anybody out there?

Wow! I got a comment on my French version of the blog. Does that mean someone actually reads it?! I must say, since my Parisian friends said 'who do you think you are? you think people want to read about your life?' I have felt a bit cold about my blog (I think they were joking but still, it made me wonder...) But now I have had a comment I feel like writing again and I hope someone will fancy reading, however uninteresting it is!

So, I have been working for over a month at Sunday (you can go for a wonder at www.sundaypublishing.com if you feel like it) and everything is going very well. My boss is great, he likes the same music as me, and managed to introduce me to a French album that I love (check it out: Charlotte Gainsbourg's 5.55, it's great!). There are speakers in the office and the music is always on, always varied to match everyone's tastes, and that makes the days go by much faster. Everyone gets on very well, our office is big and bright, and has a great big pink wall, which is the 'official' company colour. The corridor leading to the office contains a row of photos of us on one side, and on the other photos of us as children, with velcro on the back so that we can move them around and confuse people. It's all very childish, creative, funny and nice. I know it sounds very 'ad agency' but we work with magazines so I still feel like I am doing a bit of journalism every day!

But, a small agency means a lot of hard work. I must say I am exhausted. The work is great (although it contains MUCH too much reference to cars) and I have a new challenge every day. The only tough moment was when someone called saying "this is reception I have a package for you." Without thinking twice, I answer him when he said "but I have to verify your identity by asking you to tell me what the capital of Thailand is." I answered. I know I shouldn't have, but it was 9am and I was tired. Once I had said "Bangkok", he started screaming "I can't believe you are swearing at me down the phone! How dare you say cock to me!" etc etc

Anyway, all is well. My only respite has been a (very) short weekend in Paris that has left my bank account empty and now all I can do is work very hard to pay for the next trip. On the agenda: the wedding of one of Krusty's best friends, my great grandmother's 100 year birthday, a trip to Shanghai to see Seb and Sam and perhaps a weekend in Glastonbury, if we can get tickets! We'll have to wait until 1 April to find out. It's tough, but 1 April was kind to me last year, so perhaps it will be this year, too...

I'll let you know. Until then, I'll leave you with a picture of Betty, my new best friend that takes me to work every day!

x

PS: Krusty is looking for work full blast now, so if you hear of any opportunities in the world of finance, let me know!
